Fair Trade goods at The Organic Farm Shop
For us, the first rule for anything we stock is that it must be organic. But the Organic and the Fair Trade movements share a desire to do the right thing so it's quite common to find produce that's both organic and Fair Trade. That makes us doubly happy.
If you click the photograph you should end up with a larger version so you can see what we stock. Click the back button on your browser to come back here. If you note the prices, be aware the picture was taken on the 20 May 2008 so prices may have changed since then.
In case you didn't already know, Pickering is a Fair Trade Town which means, among other things:
- The council uses Fair Trade coffee and tea at meetings
- A range of Fair Trade products is available in shops and cafes
- Fairtrade products are used by local work places and community organisations
.. so if you live a little way away, come out for a day. Pickering's a lovely village to wander around.
Pickering is in North Yorkshire, not Humberside as stated by the Fair Trade website (on 1 June 2008) linked to above.
We've always stocked Fair Trade products, but the movement is growing so there are more products available, for instance, recently we've been able to stock more Fair Trade nuts.
Among the Fair Trade products we stock there are lots of coffees and teas including Rooibos, lemon green tea, Indian Chai tea and herbal teas such as rosehip hibiscus, fennel and liquorice and mint green tea. There's cocoa powder, honey, mango chutney, brazil nuts, aduki beans, cashew nuts, brown and white basmati rice, pitted dates, dried and fresh bananas, quinoa, dried mango, snack bars, hazelnut cookies, peppercorns, cloves, cinnamon and turmeric.
Don't forget, if you're in Pickering, Scarborough or Malton or somewhere inbetween we also deliver.
