Dr Hertzog in shop 26 June

It's nearly mid-summer and a lovely time of the year. It's light until well gone 10pm - mind you I am normally in bed by then! Sunrise at 4:30am is lovely.

As you probably know we have been building up our supply of health products. The latest additions are Short Chain Peptides which regulate all processes in the body at cellular level, thus postpone biological aging. This in turn makes everything function more efficiently.
I've just had this email from a family in Canada who the shop has been supplying with Short Chain Peptides:
"We have had good news about our son's MRI which showed that, most unusually, the tumour shrank :) The doctors expected it to continue to grow slowly after surgery so we are very thankful!! It was wonderful of you to tell us about short chain peptides for our son as I think they have been really beneficial"

Dr Chris Hertzog will be in the shop on Tuesday 26 June if you want to talk to him about our full range of health care products.

For a full list of what's in the shop see our organic fruit and vegetable price guide.

In the meat/fish department we will have fresh organic: beef mince and braising steak; lamb mince; chicken; bacon; smoked salmon.

Have a good week!

PS if you or a friend can't come to the shop you can take a virtual tour! You can then email in an order and we will endeavour to deliver it - see our delivery page for details.

Flaming June

It's June and a lovely time of year. We've had some strange weather but maybe not as bad as the flooding in the midlands and down south.
I had a lovely bank holiday weekend visiting my daughter and sister in London with my grandson. We had fantastic weather but it's a long drive with a little one, especially when the car heater was stuck on!

New in the shop are Cheeky Panda Bamboo toilet paper and tooth brushes.
Bamboo is the world’s fastest growing plant. It grows 30 times faster than trees and being a grass, bamboo does not require replanting after harvest. 27,000 trees are wiped out as toilet paper production every day? (National Geographic) Recycled tissue contains de-inking chemicals and B.P.A. that can be harmful to our skin (Huffington Post).

We are also now stocking Beeswax wraps for covering food, sandwiches etc. This is much better for the environment than clingfilm which is a form of plastic.

For a full list of what's in the shop see our organic fruit and vegetable price guide.

In the meat/fish department we will have fresh organic: beef mince; tudor pork; chicken: breasts, thighs and drumsticks. bacon, cooked ham and smoked salmon. and smoked salmon.
We also have frozen chicken, salmon fillets and gf sausages.

Have a good week!

You may be barbecuing this weekend and salads are a lovely accompaniment. My sister said she made this tomato salad and it was delicious and so simple to make. We also have lovely UK Batavia and Little Gem lettuces.

May bank holiday

What a bank holiday weekend! Fantastic weather and the Tour de Yorkshire!
I managed a lovely early morning trip to the beach with my grandson. Our gardens don't quite know what's hit them. One minute it was winter and then spring and summer have rolled into one.

We have delicious organic british asparagus in the shop. The season is very short so do come and treat yourselves. We also have very tasty large plum tomatoes on the vine - feedback from a very happy customer!

Hottest London Marathon on record

Following on from our last blog - what a week! Amazing weather! The London Marathon was the hottest on record. Now back to normal April weather.
I'm getting the house ready for the return of my son and family. The cat won't know what's happening with a young person chasing after her!
My sisters seem to be very busy sending each other old family photos for a Sleightholme cousin get-together in Guildford. I think this has been sparked off by the 100th anniversary of the brutal battle of Passchendaele, in which we very sadly lost two great uncles.

Back to the shop - I've just read an article about how good fermented food is for you. We sell a selection: kombucha, a refreshing and deliciously wild fermented beverage, ginger and turmeric kombucha, red sauerkraut and more besides. Do come and browse.

For a full list of what's in the shop see our organic fruit and vegetable price guide.

In the meat/fish department we will have fresh organic: bacon, cooked ham and smoked salmon.

Have a good week.
